Someone else, maybe CISCO, have done it already, or hold a patent.

Telco's can lock off access by:-
- not providing ISP connections
- prohibitivly pricing ISP connections

Telco's can refuse to interconnect voice with their networks - OR charge crippling interconnect charges. 3.45c/min! Will this reduce for _local_ exchange access?

Manufacturers, Merchants, ISP's may not be willing/interested.

Unable to get funding to develop prototype, pilot production, final versions.

May miss window of opportunity. Patent doesnt offer any real protection.

There may unexpected technical problems/show stoppers.

Need more input - eg Maestro, Dynamite, others....

Copyright/Userright MUST be solved first. Have to collect royalties & offer CD like protection to artists. [But not more than they already have/expect].

What about the BIG software players - IBM and Microsoft.
Both will produce a product and compete. Especially in the SOHO, SME markets.

Netserver replaces operating systems. Applications written in JAVA will run happily.

The impact of flat screen monitors - a la combank.

ORACLE - friend or foe. How can it be useful for them? Net-terminal.

Not clear how to do updates/upgrades on the fly. Rollback, lock ups.

A staged roll out would be better and quicker..... But how?

Netserver must not have reboot rate of more than once per unit in 5 years. Can this be done with FreeBSD, Linux as bases.

Will Lucent/Bell Labs king-hit this? P9 & Inferno.

If I can think of it in ISOLATION - won't someone with funds working on top of the market have already come up with it. Like AXIS print servers?

BIG networking companies - CISCO & Bay & 3COM.
They will produce product & compete.

Much of the future is based on high bandwidth Digital Subscriber Loops. How will this be achieved?? NOBODY is getting stuck into this... FM Radio seems interesting.
