C:Sir Henry Rowley Bishop (1787-1856)

N:The tune was originally composed as a waltz by Henry Bishop in 1823.
H:"Collecting from Arthur Foster was akin to watching a magician pulling rabbits
H:out of a hat. Almost every other item was a surprise. When he announced
H:'Home Sweet Home' I expected the usual mournful rendition, but instead he
H:played an arrangement that must have poor Sir Henry Bishop spinning in his grave.
H:'Home Sweet Home' arranged by bushman Alec Broadis as a lively schottische.
H:Never before had I realised that the old tune contained passages that sounded
H:like 'Waltzing' Matilda' and others like excerpts from 'The Drovers dream'".
