H:Nancy Dawson was a popular actress and dancer for many years around 1760,
H:and was well known for dancing a hornpipe and being free with her favours.
H:Even many years later, during the settlement of Australia, she was still
H:a well known figure. This particular tune was well known and referenced in
H:the colony, including being the opening tune in a play in 1826 and was the
H:tune for a song published in the newspaper in 1843.
